Welcome to YEAR 5000!

I created this Website in order to provide an outlet for people who are interested in discussing important issues in a civilized manner. If you feel strongly about a particular topic, make your case, and back it up with facts.

When debating somebody here, feel free to refute an argument, but please do not engage in personal attacks.

I am particularly interested in providing a forum where people with diverse views about politics, ethics, news, economics, and society can debate issues at an intellectual level. My vision is to have people engage in robust and intense debate with the objective of helping to generate ideas and concepts helpful to our communities.

My inspiration for this type of debate is Abraham Lincoln, who invited his political rivals to become part of his government. Doing so allowed him to view issues from different points of view, which helped him in coming up with the best solutions to the challenges he encountered during his presidency.

Why is this Website called YEAR 5000? It's my attempt at imagining how future generations would look back at our generation and marvel at how primitive we were on many issues, including ethics, religion, race relations, greed, and dogmatic thinking.
